Move Easy Auth above the verified role
Discord only lets a bot hand out roles that sit below its own top role. So if your verified role sits above Easy Auth, Discord blocks the assignment before the bot can even try, and no permission you switch on will change that.
- Open Server Settings → Roles.
- Drag the Easy Auth role above the role you hand out on verification.
- Click Save Changes in the bar at the bottom. Nothing changes until you do.
Before — nothing happens
After — the role is granted
What counts is the bot's highest role, not necessarily the one named after it. If you keep your bots in a shared role (like a Bot role), moving that one above the verified role works just as well. A single position above is enough, and Easy Auth never needs to be at the top of the list.
Check the Manage Roles permission
The order on its own isn't enough: Easy Auth also needs the Manage Roles permission. Without it, the bot replies I am missing the ManageRoles permission and stops there.
- Open Server Settings → Roles and pick the Easy Auth role.
- Open the Permissions tab and search for
manage roles. - Turn the toggle on, then click Save Changes.

Manage Roles
Members with this permission can create new roles and edit and delete roles lower than their highest role.

Already have Administrator?
Check that it worked
Run /diagnose in your server. It reads your setup and changes nothing, so it's safe to run any time, and only you can see the report. Two lines answer this question: Verified role and Bot permissions. A green tick on both means the bot can reach the role.
It's a staff-only command: you need Administrator, or the bot master role you set in /settings → General.
Fixing the order does not apply retroactively: members who verified while the bot could not reach the role still do not have it. Run /reconcile to give it back to them. It only touches members who already count as verified in Easy Auth, so nobody else is verified along the way, and it shows you what it found and waits for your confirmation.
If the role still is not assigned
Each of these is a different message from the bot, and each has its own fix. The wording is exactly what you'll see in Discord.
That role is managed by an integration and cannot be assigned. This role belongs to another bot, or to Server Boosters. Nobody can assign it, not even you, so pick a normal role instead. That role no longer exists. The verified role was deleted. Pick a new one in/settings → Verification, and members can't verify until you do.That role is above my highest role. The order is still wrong. Go back to the first step and make sure Easy Auth ends up above the role.- Members report
You have been verified, but I couldn't assign your role automatically. This is the same problem, seen from the member's side. Your log channel shows the reason next to that verification.
